Blasting Abrasives
Steel Shot
Steel Shot is a spherical metallic abrasive made from molten steel. It is mainly used in metalworking industries like steel mills & foundries for surface preparation.
Steel shot comes in two types
Available sizes
Blast cleaning with steel abrasives is vital in metal production. Different grades and sizes of steel shot yield excellent results. It is a cost-effective abrasive, allowing recycling based on surface and shot size. Larger steel shot cleans aggressively for a rougher surface. Both air-powered and wheel blast systems can accelerate the shot.
Steel shot produces a least level of dust as its process is not an abrasive one. Steel shot is mainly used to pass on condensate strength to torque or load bearing metal parts such as crankshafts, engine turbine blades and heavy-duty spring.
Steel shot blasting functions include
Remove surface contamination, providing a completely clean surface that aids in inspection for process defects.
Provide a surface profile (etch, matte finish, or anchor pattern) preparatory to further processing such as painting, coating, bonding, etc.
